Favorite Dish(es): Key Mao Gai ($8.50)- flat rice noodles w/ vegetables, chicken, basil, chili; Tod Mun Pla ($4.50 appetizer)- deep fried fish cake served w/ cucumber sauce
In the “theater district”, there’s a lot of Thai restaurants cluttered in this neighborhood, but we went w/ this place based on recommendations. It’s definitely a tiny place, but in NY where can you find a restaurant w/out a wait…we recommend going on a non-crowded weeknight or off-peak hour. Flavorful like Thai food should be- but not overly seasoned w/ sauces and spice. I love super flavor though, and if you do too- you’ll love the cucumber sauce the above appetizer comes with.
One note- for such small tables, they serve on huge plates.
UPDATE: Wondee Siam has two other locations, which are much bigger.
Wondee Siam II, 813 9th Ave (Btwn 53rd & 54th St)
Wondee Siam III, 641 10th Ave (Btwn 45th & 46th St)
